What is Counselling?

Counselling is a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and challenges with a trained professional. It’s not about giving advice or telling you what to do — it’s about helping you understand yourself better, process difficult emotions, and develop coping strategies to manage life’s challenges.

How Counselling Works

  • Talking it Through – Your counsellor will listen without judgment, giving you the space to explore what’s on your mind at your own pace.
  • Understanding Your Feelings – Together, you’ll work to understand why you feel the way you do and identify patterns or triggers.
  • Building Coping Strategies – Your counsellor will help you develop practical tools and techniques to manage difficult emotions and situations.
  • Empowering You – The goal of counselling is to help you feel more in control of your life and better equipped to handle future challenges.

Types of Issues Counselling Can Help With:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression and low mood
  • Relationship problems
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma and abuse
  • Low self-esteem
  • Life transitions
  • Work-related stress
  • Feeling stuck or overwhelmed

It’s Your Space

Counselling is about you — your feelings, your experiences, and your goals. Whether you need short-term support or ongoing sessions, counselling gives you the tools to feel more balanced, confident, and at peace.

Counselling Offered

We provide weekly 1-to-1 counselling sessions (50 minutes) for adults 18+ (See The Base for our counselling for Children and Young People), these can be delivered in person in Hertford or online.
