About the Bakery

Work is well underway on the refurbishment of our soon to launch bakery, which is named 43 Bakery. The Future Living team are eagerly awaiting the finished result. We have been delighted with the progress so far.

Our new bakery will also have it’s own dedicated website: 43bakery.co.uk which will be launching soon.

VolkerFitzpatrick, a local engineering and construction company very generously offered their time and skills to assist with the new bakery, alongside Travis Perkins, who kindly provided building materials for the project. 

As a charity, we are extremely grateful for the hard work which has gone into getting this project up and running!

The bakery, which is part of the Vale House building has been unused for quite some time. It really is a beautiful space and we are delighted that we will be able to utilize it once again! We are all looking forward to the smell of freshly baked bread and croissants filling the next door offices once our new baker gets to work.

For now the smell of fresh paint and wood are a poignant reminder that there is still a lot of work to be done before 43 Bakery officially opens in March.

How things are looking inside

Salv, who is Sandra’s husband and the other half of Future Living (usually behind the scenes!) has been busy crafting a beautiful bespoke counter which he made from scratch using wood which he then burnt (in a controlled way!) to give a unique rustic look. We can’t wait for you to see for yourself how amazing it looks!

As well as this, new ovens have been installed which will soon be filled with the delicious goods our baker will be busy making!
